Sponsorship Opportunities

We are seeking sponsors for a major conference on one of today’s most pressing issues, the nutritional health and well-being of school children.  Schools, Food and Community, April 11-12, 2008, will be the third annual conference produced by the Baum Forum and the second co-produced with the Nutrition Program, Teachers College Columbia University, a renowned center for innovation in nutrition education.

Schools, Food and Community is designed to attract a broad audience including: teachers/administrators, students, farmers, school foodservice providers, policy makers, members of the public health community, parents and the press.  Due to popular demand expressed at two previous sold-out conferences, this year’s program is being expanded to include an additional half day of workshops, conference sessions, and entertainment, providing several opportunities for sponsorship of specific conference components and increased visibility over a longer period of time.

Like the two previous events, this year’s conference will directly serve over 450 attendees.  Hundreds of others will benefit from this effort through the publication and distribution of conference materials such as the conference Resource Guide, media and web exposure generated by the conference, and the numerous collaborations that will result from the gathering.

Program highlights will include: an international perspective on the school food revolution; a roundtable of foodservice directors and chefs engaged in procuring and integrating food grown in the NY region into school menus; an update on the mandated Wellness Councils in New York; the rise in public-minded entrepreneurs and non-profits facilitating the farm to school connection; and the latest breaking policy news.  A special event will take place on Friday evening, April 11th, when there will be a series of acts presented cabaret-style that illustrate the power of theater and media as educational tools in the battle to achieve health and well-being in children.

Your contribution is critical to support the participation of approximately 450 attendees and presenters at this modestly priced, resource rich educational event. Your contribution is tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations.

All levels of sponsorship above the $2,500 level include display space in the resource fair, mention in the conference materials and press releases. Additional opportunities for visibility are available through sponsorship of specific conference needs.  A complete listing is available.
